E Verification of ITR-V of Income Tax Return has come across a long way with the introduction of technology. Gone are the days when one had to send the ITR-V to CPC Bangalore by post. Yes, this facility is still there for those who don’t have Aadhaar number. But, if you have Aadhaar number, then you can easily complete your income tax return verification by following the simple step by step guide below. Don’t have Aadhaar card yet, then apply Aadhaar card to enjoy this online e verification process.
Steps To E-Verify ITR-V or Income Tax Return Online
After successful submission of your income tax return, as soon as you receive the ITR-V, you can log in to Income tax India official portal and navigate to the page e-verify return. There you will find 4 options to choose to complete your income tax return verification. Let’s explore them one by one.
Option 1 – “I already have an EVC to e-Verify my return.”
Now this step is depending up on the 2nd step. In case you have generated the EVC sometimes back and now want to e-verify your return then you can easily choose the option and then complete you verification by providing the code. After that, simply click on submit button.
Option 2 – “I do not have an EVC and I would like to generate EVC to e-Verify my return.”
In this option you will get actually 2 ways in case your taxable income is less than 5 lakh and you are not expecting any refund. You can then e-verify through Net-banking or using your registered mobile number & email id. In case your taxable income is more than 5 lakh and you are expecting tax refund as well, you have to complete the process via net-banking only. I will explain the complete how to e-verify ITR using Net-Banking process in a separate article.
Option 3 – “I would like to generate Aadhaar OTP to e-Verify my return.”
This is one of the most easy & popular way to e-verify your income tax in recent times. To do that you have to link your Aadhaar with your PAN first. Then you can generate OTP which will be delivered to your Aadhaar registered mobile number. Simply provide the OTP and click on submit button to complete the verification process.
Option 4 – “I would like to send ITR-V/ I would like to e-Verify later.”
In case you are not able to e-verify by following any of the above mentioned way, then you have to choose the last and typical way of filing your income tax return verification. Download the ITR-V and send it to CPC Bangalore address within 120 days from the date of upload your return.
