LIC Jeevan Surabhi Money Back Plan Premium and Return
Sharmaji took this policy for 20 years and sum assured Rs 1,00,000. In that case he has to pay annual premium of Rs Rs.9,062.00/-.
Now as per money back policy Sharmaji will receive around 25% of sum assured after a few time period for 4 times, that is Rs 25,000 till 15 year. In that case Sharmaji will pay total premium = Rs.9,062.00/- X 15 = 1,35,930. Now by 15 year he will also receive 25,000 x 4 = 1,00,00, means the sum assured amount will be return back by that time.
Now if you consider bonus rate = Rs 41.00 / 1000 sum assured (this is just an example, not sure about the current accurate bonus rate), then after maturity policy holder will earn 82000 as bonus. So after policy term Sharmaji will earn total = 100000 + 82000 = 1,82,000.
So you can calculate from here how much return you have earned from LIC Jeevan Surabhi. Similar to this policy LIC has other money back policies based on different terms only. But if you consider this product as a investment tool then you may earn a very low return in the long run. That you have to decide how to proceed as many times I have shared the similar analysis in this blog and also conveyed to readers that Insurance and Investment should not be mixed together.
